Frequently Asked Questions

  • I provide in person care at 1320 Simms Street, Suite 200, Lakewood, CO 80401. The building is set back from the road and has a State Farm sign out front. I share space in this unique setting with a practioner of acupuncture.

  • Once we have decided to work together and you have completed the online paperwork in the client portal you will receive an email with an invitation to the session. You will recieve a new one for each session you have scheduled. It will be your responsibility to do the session on your phone or computer in a place you feel comfortable to talk freely.

  • I do. The majority of my work is in person in the Lakewood office.

  • Fees depend on a client’s chosen services. The typical 50 minute session done in traditional fashion has a base rate of $165/hour. There is, on occasion, room in my caseload for reduced rate sessions. Those are negotiated prior to intake and depends on availability and client need. For clients who choose to do the intensive model fee is determined by the quantity of hours chosen and discussed at the time the intensive is scheduled. Call for more details.

  • I will welcome you in, orient you to the building, restrooms & how we will use our time. I will also answer any questions you have before we jump in. When we begin the first session, we will start with an interview that allows me to collect a history and survey what is going on in your life curretly and what strengths you have as well as areas that may be holding you back. For some clients this may take one session, for others it may take 2-3 sessions. We will also set some goals in this time, this is not a restrictive process, but more of a guide to the roadmap of where we hope to go in therapy.

  • Therapy is such a unique experience and is different in its length and intensity. It varies with the complexity of the issue, how long it has been troubling and how much work any individual can do in context with their lives. For simpler issues that don’t have a history to them 6-12 months is common. For trauma, health issues and chronic pain treatment could be longer or ongoing. The term will be discussed with you and goals are reviewed every 6 months.

Those doing intensives treatment is much more time limited and will be discussed when treatment is initiated.

Per the Federal “No Surprises Act” all clients will recieve a “Good Fatih Estimate” at the beginning of treatment that will estimate the cost of services for a year term and a new one will be provided if the client participates in treatment longer than a year.

  • Currently I am paneled through Alma for Aetna and Optum. Each is an umbrella that has several insurance companies under it’s umbrella. Use of insurance is billed and collected through Alma. Use of insurance is based on your eligibility and availability of space in my caseload.

If you don’t have one of those, its ok. I can offer you what is called a superbill at the end of the month that you can send right to your insurance company if you have out of network benefits they will reimburse you directly.
